Time Marching.....

Time is marching by. We had a new grandchild a little less than two weeks ago! Number 5! We have yet another wedding coming up this summer. This will make three summers in a row. Our boy is again coming home from college! My youngest two are getting so tall. The 14 year old is almost 6'3". My house is a clutter of school books and laundry and baby toys, dishes in the sink. We have purchased two vehicles to replace the one that got totaled a month ago, a 2009 Malibu and a 1996 Taurus. I am excited about having two vehicles. Seems we are often both in need of one. My flower beds are calling and the garden needs digging up. Life is good and busy and has its struggles but I am blessed. No real blogging time today, but here is a picture of green popping its head up through the dirt.

  1. I have that plant growing in my yard also. You are busy! Congrats on grandchild # 5! New life is what makes life joyful. Another wedding! Wow..Yes it is fun when a child comes home from college....and you are so lucky to have such tall kids. Good luck with your new cars. After the wedding you will feel more relaxed.

  2. Congratulations on grandbaby #5! Sounds like a wonderfully busy time of life at your home. Sedums are popping through in our your yard too, in spite of it snowing yesterday. Isn't it a wonder that the plants know it is spring?

  3. Hi Anita...ha...I get it ...the above comment about the onions and potatoes. 14 hours to college...eek! I thought 5 was bad for one of my kids, the rest have only been 1 1/2 and 2 hours. The one with 5, took the train home alot, we just moved him in and out, and then visited on parent's weekend.

Oh, it is not raw milk, it is pasteurized and homogenized. That is illegal in DE too. I would be afraid to drink raw milk. Although I haven't heard of anyone in the news being sick from it, as I think it is allowed in Pennsylvania. (And it is illegal in Maryland where I bought this farm milk).

I remember being young and my mom stopping by a farm. Money was tight, and she would try to afford milk for us 7 kids by sometimes buying raw milk, although she was nervous about it and only did it when we really needed to save the money. She also tried mixing half store milk and half powdered milk to save money (although I think these days, powdered milk is expensive!)

So, I appreciate you pointing out that you thought it was raw milk, so I updated my post, as after I posted that I had a thought someone might think that. And I put on a website that discusses raw milk (they are for it, I am not as I appreciate pasteurization) but it is interesting, plus they have state laws listed: www.realmilk.com
